Montparnasse Apartment 200m2

We are delighted to share this 200m2 contemporary 3 bedroom apartment at the top of Montparnasse hill, in Nicosia. The apartment design and decor is a beautful interplay of light and dark finishes creating depth, contrast and a dynamic look.

Maison Demetriades was hired to carry out a full renovation and restoration work of this home. From the intial planning stages to the final touches we transformed the space to a tranquil and stylish home for this international family who have lived in the Middle East for many years and originally come from New York and New Zealand.

We restored the existing traditional fireplace as the clients loved its antique look and created a modern curved chimney breast finished with beige polished plaster. We built a stormy grey travertine marble bench with one side being a bespoke banquet dining area. The round dining table mirrors the smooth curves of the fireplace.

We selected a light oak parquet flooring for this open plan living kitchen/dining room. In the kitchen the cupboards doors we chose are two tone - matt dark bronze along with mettalic, ribbed and lacquered. To create contrast and to maintain a bright look we curated the dark cupboards with a polished Taj Mahal waterfall kitchen counter top and splashback and fitted Miele appliances. The furniture is a combination of new pieces sourced from Italy and Cyprus and from their previous homes in Beirut and Damascus.

The master ensuite and guest bathrooms are with high end travertine marble effect tiles which is a timeless and elegant look. For a modern twist we combined black sanitaryware and walnut cabinetry. For the young daughter’s ensuite bathroom we loved designing it with earthy pink and light grey tiles along with gold sanitary ware and accents.
